Over a hundred people take part in the Viral Cat Tour in Toronto

Over 100 people took part in a cat tour to admire 21 neighborhood cats in Toronto, Canada on Sunday, September 8th.

Footage of the event, filmed and posted by Laura Newman, went viral and was viewed over 4 million times on TikTok.

The video shows a large group of people stopping along Davenport Road in Toronto, where residents proudly display their feline companions. Featured cats included a hairless cat named “William” and a duo named “Sauce and Cheese.”

“I came across the Toronto Cat Tour by accident,” Newman told Storyful. “We joined the group walking around the neighborhood to see cats signed up for the tour.”

Natalie Czerwinski, the tour's creator, wrote on Instagram that she planned the event single-handedly with a budget of about $100 after being inspired by a similar cat tour in Minneapolis.

Czerwinski encouraged people to start their own local cat tours. “It is our collective responsibility to make the places we live cool and fun,” Czerwinski wrote. Photo credit: Laura Newman via Storyful
