The 44-year-old actor got his big break when he took on the role of Dave Rygalski in Season 3 of Dave Rygalski Gilmore Girls. His brief appearance as the sweet and lovable guitarist won the hearts of fans around the world and left viewers swooning with the way he chased after his girlfriend Lane Kim (Keiko Agena).

While his time as Dave was short-lived, Brody ended the debate over whether or not his character deserved the title of “Best Friend” of the series.

“No, he wasn’t there that long,” he said Nobody wants that star said in an Instagram video posted by ELLE Magazine. “We don’t know how he would have fared in the long run.”

“He could have been love-bombing,” he added.

In season 3, episode 20 of Gilmore GirlsDave won fans over when he told Mrs. Kim, Lane's deeply religious, strict and controlling mother, that he stayed up all night reading the entire Bible in order to take Lane to the prom.

While Mrs. Kim eventually relented, Dave and Lane's romance was short-lived as he went to college in California. After trying a long-distance relationship, they eventually broke up. She then married her bandmate Zack Van Gerbig (Todd Lowe) and had children.

Gilmore Girls ran for seven seasons on The CW from 2000 to 2007 and starred Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, a close-knit mother-daughter duo. The series followed her life in the fictional small town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. The film also starred Kelly Bishop, Edward Herrmann, Melissa McCarthy and Scott Patterson.

Despite Brody's skepticism, Agena previously told E! News that she believed Lane's thoughts still wandered to Dave every now and then.

“As rock 'n' roll as she is, I think she would be pretty honest, but I think there's a certain heartbreak in that relationship,” she explained. “Maybe a few daydreams. I don’t know if she would ever make anything happen, but a friendship for sure.”
