Police are investigating possible shootings and accidents in the northeast Columbia neighborhood

COLUMBIA, Missouri (KMIZ)

Police put up crime scene tape Thursday evening after a car crash and possible shooting in northeastern Colombia.

At least five officers and a K-9 unit responded to Godas Drive near Valley Creek Lane around 8 p.m. Police placed several evidence markers in the area.

An ABC 17 News photojournalist saw two vehicles at the scene of the accident with damage to their driver's doors. Two tow trucks removed the cars from the area around 9:15 p.m. Police cleared the scene before 9:30 p.m

A neighbor who said he witnessed the incident tells ABC 17 News that two people got out of a car and fired at a group of people traveling in the area. According to reports, the car tried to make a quick turn, lost control and crashed into the other car that was parked on the street.

Another neighbor said his family heard more than a dozen gunshots.

Columbia police did not immediately respond to a request for information about the crime scene

This is the second time this week that police have responded to the intersection of Godas Drive and Valley Creek Lane. Officials found evidence of gunshots on Tuesday evening. ABC 17 News asked police if the two investigations are related.

Columbia police were dispatched to Godas Drive 77 times in 2024, according to online dispatch records. Of those calls, at least 11 times were to the Valley Creek Lane intersection.
