Clairo's enchanting concert – The Rower

Reading time: 3 minutes

In one of her songs, Clairo says: “Thank you for your time.” Definitely Clairo’s charm The tour is worth it.

Clairo, also known as Claire Cottrill, rose to prominence as an indie cuffed-jeans bedroom pop artist with teen cult classics like “Pretty Girl.” Claire's first album, immunityin the indie pop sector, thrilled everyone with hits like “Bags” and “Sofia”. Next, the Jack Antanoff-produced 2021 album Sling was a step towards a more mature sound with the layering of instruments and the exploration of adulthood.

After listening charm Ever since it was released, it was absolutely necessary for me to see it live. While everyone had one BRAT Summer, many are looking for one Thought Daughter Summer

embodied charm Energy. I'm waiting impatiently for autumn, charm is the perfect transition from warm summer nights to wearing sweaters and headphones in the fall (I won't tell your teacher about your Airpods if you don't tell mine).

This album was the perfect next step in Claire's discography, which explores femininity, longing, romantic relationships and a playful era.

“I have Charmed at the Clairo tour,” printed on one of the many adorable pieces of merchandise, is how I would describe the enchanting night 5 of Clairo’s LA residency at the Fonda Theater.

The atmosphere of the venue was a perfect match for Clairo's soft, jazzy vibe. Unpredictable choice for an opener, rap duo Paris Texas. They brought the energy and heated up the audience, which doesn't primarily care about rap.

Just after 9 p.m., Wendy Rene's “After Laughter (Comes Tears)” played as the band, followed by Clairo, took the stage. Claire poured each band member a glass of wine. After cheering each other on and creating a friendly and intimate atmosphere, the opening song “Nomad” opened the show.

The setlist included songs from Clairo's new album charmmixed with previously released songs, and it didn't disappoint. The audience loved every song and the stage presence of Claire and the band.

As a die-hard Clairo fan, her music has influenced me through thick and thin for years; We both grew up with each album. An ode to my middle school self, a new arrangement of the popular “Flaming Hot Cheetos.” The viral song takes audiences back to the 2017-2019 era. The crowd screamed with every word, “I want to be the one you think about at night!”

Claire's outfits certainly didn't fail during her stays in LA and NYC. Claire had a selection of dresses, heels, boots and accessories styled by Harper Slate, who took inspiration from '90s Chanel and famous supermodel Kate Moss.

On the fifth night, Clairo wore a chic white dress with puffed shoulders and flowers on the skirt of the dress. The simple but elegant outfit is perfected by dainty white heels and her classic over-ear headphones.

Closing out the show is “Juna,” an upbeat and catchy tune, “(you make me wanna)go dance.” The crowd celebrated and cheered to the song as Clairo said goodbye and thanked the audience as she and the Band left the stage.

The fans walking out the door with their bags and in their Pinterest-esque outfits are excited about the night but also sad that it's over. This concert was the perfect show; It felt authentic to Clairo and her music, while also entering an exciting new era in her career charm.
