A man is critically injured in an ATV accident in Douglas County

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Douglas County officers responded to a 911 call about an ATV accident in the 12000 block of Fairfield Creek Road Northeast that left a man critically injured.

Officers responded and learned that an SUV driven by a 62-year-old man was traveling east on Fairfield Creek Road when a dog ran in front of the SUV.

The man tried to apply his brakes but ended up hitting the dog and losing control of the ATV, ejecting himself in the process.

He was transported to Alomere Health in Alexandria before being airlifted to a nearby medical facility for life-threatening injuries.
