Canton, MA child taken from daycare, RI arrest – NBC Boston

A man removed his toddler from the boy's daycare in Canton, Massachusetts, despite a restraining order, sparking a police search that tracked down the couple in Rhode Island on Thursday, officials said.

According to police there and in Canton, Nathan Dorosario was arrested more than an hour later in Pawtucket. His child was safe and returned to his mother.

Dorosario was being held as a fugitive from justice, and Canton's police chief said he would likely face charges of kidnapping while in custody and violating a restraining order upon his return to the state.

It is not immediately clear whether Dorosario had an attorney who could speak to his arrest.

The cantonal police said the child was taken from the daycare center at around 2:25 p.m. despite an active restraining order against Dorosario. Working with state police, investigators were able to locate his phone and lead him to Pawtucket, where he was captured after a chase.
