Jenna Ortega has asked fans to stop mistreating Wednesday plush dolls after a TikTok trend angered department stores.

The plush dolls, which dress Wednesday in her signature dark school uniform and jet-black pigtails, gained attention after the latest trailer for the Supernatural series was released.

The Addams family The spin-off centers on Wednesday Addams, an expressionless young girl with psychic abilities who is trying to solve a murder mystery.

The series broke records when it debuted in November 2022 and stars Jenna Ortega in the role of the title character, first brought to life by Lisa Loring in the 1960s series and later by Christina Ricci in the 1991 feature film.

Users on TikTok went into stores and played around with the plush dolls, flipping out their hair so that the forehead was exposed and the figure looked bald.

The 23-year-old actor was forced to intervene and urged fans to stop the behavior after a basket full of plush dolls with egg-shaped heads showed up on Wednesday.

One poster read, in capital letters and in a very tense tone: “Don’t toss your hair Wednesday, you will be asked to leave.”

Ortega commented on the video with the request: “Please don’t.”

Fans were amused by the comments, and brands from Fanta to Play-Doh to La Roche Posay joined in. The skincare company wrote, “The way the dolls look like they've made it through it too.”

One fan joked: “It's not Wednesday, it's Thursday.”

Last month, a new Netflix behind-the-scenes teaser promised that the show's second season would be “bigger and twistier.”

“If we showed you any more, your eyes would bleed, and I'm not that generous,” Ortega says in the clip, as her character teases, “Let's play dolls.”

Netflix hasn't confirmed an official release date, but the show is expected to film in Ireland – a change from its original location in Romania. deadline According to reports, fans could expect a release in 2025 at the earliest.

Ortega spoke about the new series diversity“We decided we wanted to focus a little more on the horror aspect of the series.

“Because it's so light-hearted and a show like this with vampires, werewolves and superpowers, you shouldn't take yourself too seriously.”

She added: “We're missing out on any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great.”
