Westbound Bonnet Carre Spillway closed due to accident

An early morning accident turned the Bonnet Carre Spillway into a parking lot Friday. The first problem spot was reported by state police near mile marker 213 West after a vehicle collided with the bed of a truck, blocking all lanes. Another crash was reported around 4:30 a.m. near the I-10/I-55 interchange, which was closed down the highway. Motorists can take the Airline Highway as an alternative route. An early morning accident turned the Bonnet Carre Spillway into a parking lot Friday.

The first trouble spot was reported by state police near mile marker 213 West after a vehicle crashed into the bed of a truck, blocking all lanes.

Around 4:30 a.m., another crash was reported near the I-10/I-55 interchange, shutting down the highway.

Motorists can take the Airline Highway as an alternative route.
