The Reds are hiring former Guardians manager Terry Francona to lead the club, according to a report

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Terry Francona's retirement from managing a Major League Baseball team took barely a year. According to a report from Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, the winningest manager in Cleveland Guardians franchise history will return as captain of the Cincinnati Reds after a season off.

When Francona was contacted by cleveland.com via text message late Thursday and asked to confirm the message, she quickly responded with a sideways smiling emoticon and no further explanation.
