Three people arrested in drug raid in Poughkeepsie


Poughkeepsie, NY – An investigation by the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office Drug Task Force has resulted in the arrest of three people on drug charges. Community reports of drug sales near Main Street and South Clinton Street prompted the investigation.

Task force agents purchased cocaine and fentanyl from identified dealers Ronald L. Davis, Bernard Diggs and Leonardo De La Cruz. Following the investigation, a search warrant was obtained and executed for a property at 407 Main Street, a vehicle and the three suspects.

On Thursday, Drug Task Force agents, assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Unit, Poughkeepsie City Police and New York State Police, conducted early morning raids. Large quantities of crack cocaine and fentanyl were seized, resulting in multiple charges.

Ronald L. Davis was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree with intent to sell, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree. He was arraigned and remanded without bail.

  • Police are searching for a suspect in the Crown Fried Chicken vandalism incident

    PHILADELPHIA - The Central Detective Division is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in a vandalism incident at a Crown Fried Chicken restaurant in North Philadelphia last month. The incident occurred around 2:50 a.m. on Sept. 24 when a suspect became angry with employees at the restaurant at 2201 N. Broad Street.

    According to police, the suspect climbed over the counter and damaged two cash registers, two credit card readers, two receipt printers and a digital menu monitor. Total damage is estimated at $8,470.

    The suspect is described as a black female wearing all black clothing and black and white Nike sneakers.

    Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact the Central Detective Division. Video footage and still images of the suspect were released to the public.

    The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.

  • Five charged with undercover drug and weapons sales operation

    Queens, NY – Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz has announced the indictment of five individuals on charges of conspiracy, criminal sale of a controlled substance and firearms sales.

    The incident followed an 18-month sting operation that resulted in the seizure of more than 750 Percocet and Ecstasy pills, many containing fentanyl or methamphetamine, as well as a significant amount of cocaine. The illegal narcotics, valued at approximately $15,000, were allegedly sold by the defendants at the Astoria Houses complex. Among the defendants is a New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) employee who worked at the Latimer Gardens Housing Complex.

    Queens District Attorney Katz emphasized the seriousness of the defendants' actions, claiming they were accused of selling dangerous drugs and a firearm at a public housing complex. The partnership and efforts of the NYPD, the Department of Investigation and the Attorney General's Office Major Economic Crimes Bureau were recognized for their collaborative work in prosecuting the case. DOI Commissioner Jocelyn E. Strauber emphasized the threat posed by the defendants' alleged activities at the Astoria Houses and expressed gratitude for law enforcement's commitment.
