THREE DAY GRACE teased a reunion with Gontier Earlier this week by posting a voicemail message in which Adam told Frosted that he would “be in the studio soon if you could just let everyone know.”

Gontier said about his return THREE DAY GRACE: “I feel like it went smoothly, better than we expected. It's like we were back in the same room together and picked up where we left off. We've been friends for so long that it's natural to get back in the room together.”

Walst added: “It was so much fun and inspiring making this album. It combines over 20 years of experience.” THREE DAY GRACE and doing something no band has done before. I’m excited for the fans to hear it!”

In April 2023, Gontier reunited with THREE DAY GRACE on stage during the band's concert in Huntsville, Alabama. Gontier rejoined his former bandmates as they opened SHINE DOWN in the Probst Arena at the Von Braun Center to perform two classic songs by THREE DAY GRACEis the album from 2006 “One-X”: “Never too late” And “uprising”.

THREE DAY GRACE later shared a post-performance photo Gontier on social media and wrote in an accompanying message: “Soooo, we accomplished something.”

In July 2022, Gontier said that a reunion with his former bandmates will “probably” happen “at some point.” The Canadian-born musician made the comments just a few weeks after he and two members of the band's youngest lineup, the bassist Brad Walst and his younger brother, singer Matt Walstwere inducted into the Norwood District High School Hall of Honor in Norwood, Ontario.

Asked in an interview with Stone lining whether he would be open to collaboration THREE DAY GRACE once again, since he obviously has a good relationship with his former bandmates, Gontier said, “You know what? Yes. I mean, definitely. We've all grown up “We haven't really talked about doing anything – at least not yet – but I have a feeling something like this will most likely happen at some point in the future,” he added.

At the interviewer Brian Storm noticed that Adam's reunion with THREE DAY GRACE would be a “big” thing Gontier said, “And it would be a lot of fun.” Storm He then reiterated that the reunion would be “very big.” Adam said, “Probably. You never know, man. We haven't really talked about it yet. But yeah, I guess we’ll see.”

Beginning of July 2022, Brad Walst spoke about reconnecting with Gontier at the Norwood District High School event in an interview with Tommy Carroll des 97.9 WGRD Radio station. He said, “It’s funny because the high school has been calling us for years. And of course we all had different schedules and.” AdamHe did his thing and we did our thing. And to be honest, we hadn't really spoken to each other much until recently – texting and stuff. But Adammoved back to the area and has a great family and wife. And we all kind of chatted and hung out. Yes, I called him and just said, “They want the three of us” – they do Frosted, Adam and me. And everyone agreed and it was like, “Okay, let’s do this.” So it was pretty cool to see [our] High school where you grew up… It’s nice to be recognized.”

He continued: “It’s funny because I was texting Adam“You made it into the Hall of Fame.” He says, “Yeah.” “Straight B student.” [Laughs] But I think having us together in that room was definitely much more impactful. So it was a pretty cool feeling.

In 1992 Gontier, Brad Walst, Phil Crowe, Neil Sanderson And Joe Grant formed GROUND THRESHOLD while most members were still in high school. This band broke up in 1995, but two years later Gontier, Sanderson And Walst reformed as THREE DAY GRACE. Gontier left the band in 2013 and was replaced by Frostedthe singer of another Norwood band, MY DARKEST DAYS.

In an interview with The Oklahoman, Gontier said he met some of his first bandmates when they were freshmen at Norwood District High School.

“In the end I joined Brad because we had the same love for music,” Gontier said. “He didn’t play anything back then. I suggested he get a bass and he did.”

Gontier said that Canadian bands, including The tragically hip one And OUR LADY PEACE were early influences, along with the Seattle rock scene, particularly the group SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE.

Gontier initially entered rehab in Toronto in 2005 after admitting she was addicted to Oxycontin. The rehab stay influenced some of the content that would appear on THREE DAY GRACE'S “One-X” Album, including songs “Pain” And “Over and over again”.

Gontier left THREE DAY GRACE in the spring of 2013. At that time, the Canadian rocker had cited unspecified “health issues” when announcing his departure. Adam later released a statement explaining that he had dropped out THREE DAY GRACE to pursue new projects and not deal with addiction.
