A video explaining to gay men how to behave around women while hiking is going viral

A video giving gay men light-hearted advice when they encounter a woman while hiking has gone super viral online.

It was posted by popular gay TikTok and YouTube creator Stan Chris (above, center).

Many women are afraid when they are isolated and alone somewhere when they meet a strange man. The question “Human or Bear?” went viral earlier this year after it was posted online. The TikTok account @screenshothq asked several women on the street, “Would you rather be stuck in a forest with a man or a bear?” Most women said they would feel safer with a bear.

@screenshothq The question of whether you're stuck in a forest with a man or a bear is currently circulating on TikTok and is sparking some interesting conversations… we know what our answer would be 🐻🌳 #manvsbear #tiktok #tiktoktrend #trending #challenge #streetinterview #voxpop ♬ Terror Music (Scary Song) – IMPERIUM RECORDS

The Stan Chris video plays on the fact that women are probably far less afraid of gay men. Gay men also want women to feel comfortable around them. It offers gay men some seemingly subtle ways to make their sexuality known, such as ballroom dancing gestures, complaining about men, or other stereotypical gay behaviors.

The Internet reacts

Although it was probably intended to be a light-hearted skit, it seems to have struck a chord – especially with women.

One woman commented: “I know this is a joke but it would make me feel really safe and supported.” Her comment has over 600,000 likes.

“These are the 'bears' we're picking ❤️😭,” said another, sparking 200,000 likes.

One woman added: “Once I was hiking pregnant with my girlfriend and saw two men looking at me and saying 'yes mommy hiking the baby ouuuuuut'🤣🤣.”

Some gay men noted that they actually make their sexuality known when they find themselves in a similar situation.
