Emergency crews respond to rollover accident in Miami Gardens – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

MIAMI GARDENS, FL. (WSVN) – Miami-Dade Fire Rescue struggled to free a driver who was trapped in his car after he was involved in a rollover accident in Miami Gardens.

It was all hands on deck Friday morning as crews ran back and forth to their fire trucks to get the tools and equipment they needed to safely remove the person from the vehicle.

The incident occurred west of Miami Gardens Drive toward Northeast 6th Avenue.

The vehicle was on its side and a man was stuck inside.

The violent impact deployed the side airbags and appears to have hit a tree.

7Skyforce hovered over the scene while responders used a body bag as a shield between the man and the glass they were cutting to protect the man from further injury.

After cutting it off, emergency services pulled on the roof, got the man out safely and placed him on a stretcher.

He was placed in the back of an ambulance and taken to an area hospital.

The man's exact condition is unknown and the cause of the accident is unclear.
