Teen arrested months after USPS worker fatally shot in Chicago

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with this summer's fatal shooting of a mother and postal worker killed while working in Chicago, police confirmed this week.

The teenager taken into custody in Iowa on Monday is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of postal worker Octavia Redmond, Chicago police told USA TODAY.

Redmond, 48, was found fatally shot as she walked in the West Pullman neighborhood on July 19, according to police and the coroner's office.

Police did not give a motive for the killing.
