Man who is on probation for armed robbery was arrested for a chase in Fond du Lac County

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – A man on probation for armed robbery and being a felon in possession of a firearm is back in custody after an overnight pursuit in Fond du Lac County.

According to the sheriff's office, just before 1 a.m., an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Interstate 41 in Eldorado. The driver increased his speed and attempted to evade officers by exiting onto Winnebago Dr. and then took the ramp back to the highway.

The officers put out stop sticks and let air out of the tires. The vehicle exited on Military Road. and finally came to a stop. The driver tried to run away on foot. Officers arrested a 25-year-old man from Milwaukee.

The chase spanned approximately 6½ miles.

The sheriff's office is charging him with fleeing and eluding the operator of a vehicle from officers, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, resisting or obstructing an officer, operating a motor vehicle with a restricted controlled substance and possession of THC.

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections arrested him while he awaits possible charges at the Fond du Lac County Jail.
