2 dead in Cromwell nursing home shooting: reports

CROMWELL, CT – Emergency crews in Cromwell rush to a local nursing home late Friday morning due to reports of multiple gunshot victims and two dead.

Details are still being clarified, but the incident reportedly occurred at Apple Rehab in Cromwell, 156 Berlin Road, Cromwell.

WVIT Channel 30 reports that two people were killed, including the suspected shooter, and there is no danger to the public.

Meanwhile, WFSB Channel 3 reports it is a murder-suicide.

A person who answered the call at the Cromwell location declined to comment on the situation and deferred calls to the company's Avon office.

According to an employee there, few details were available, but it was reported that a “tragedy” had occurred at the site and police were called.

When Cromwell police arrived late Friday morning, they said no information was available, but they were on scene and the investigation was ongoing.

The first calls came at 11 a.m
