Gun-wielding Maryland man arrested for road rage on I-695: State Police

White Hall resident David Belt Jr., 41, was arrested Oct. 3 following an investigation into an incident between him and another driver on the highway, authorities said

According to police, officers received a call shortly after 2:30 p.m. Thursday reporting a suspected violent incident on I-695 in the area of ​​Greenspring Avenue.

The victim reported that the driver of a Ford – later identified as Belt – pointed a gun at her while both were traveling on the highway; However, no injuries were reported.

It's unclear what prompted Belt to take out the gun.

Investigators managed to locate the Ford on Thursday evening, Belt was arrested and police recovered two loaded handguns.

Belt was charged with first- and second-degree assault and weapons offenses. The incident remains under investigation.
