Uber driver arrested and charged with sexually assaulting Villanova student in dorm room

An Uber driver has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a Villanova University student in an on-campus dorm.

Mirvan Dinler, 26, of Trappe, was arrested Friday morning and faces multiple charges, including rape, in connection with the Sept. 13 incident.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by FOX 29, the 21-year-old victim had ordered an Uber to return to her dorm after a night out with friends in Philadelphia.

The victim says when she arrived back on campus later that evening, she was followed into her dorm complex by her Dinler, her Uber driver. Once inside, police said she was sexually assaulted.

According to court documents, Dinler was filmed on security cameras accompanying the victim into the building shortly after 11 p.m. that night.

According to court documents, Dinler left the building after the attack and returned a short time later. He allegedly knocked on her door and told a witness that he was an Uber driver who wanted to collect a fee from the victim because of a mess in the back seat of his vehicle.

The victim handed her phone to Dinler, who allegedly transferred $150 to a Venmo account under a different name.
