A man became verbally confrontational with officers at the scene, Livingston County Sheriff's Department officials reported in a news release. The confrontation was de-escalated.

The press release states: “A passerby alerted deputies that the same individual was making offensive comments about the deputies and was rummaging through a backpack. The passerby then alluded to the fact that they believed he had a gun in his pocket.”

As the deputy approached the 21-year-old, he struck him, according to Livingston County officials. During the struggle, the deputy deployed his Taser.

However, the man was not alone. Sheriff's officials reported in the news release that two others tried to intervene in the argument between the 21-year-old and the deputy. They reported a 48-year-old woman tried to disarm the deputy. The 48-year-old woman's 21-year-old daughter also took part alongside her mother and tried to prevent the 21-year-old man's arrest.

Additional law enforcement responded and all three were taken to the Livingston County Jail on “multiple felony charges.”

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department reports that no one was injured in this incident.
