Suspects arrested for drug offenses in Mora

MORA, La. (KALB) – A complaint about a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of two men on outstanding warrants and drug charges, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office.

NPSO was alerted to a Nissan Altima occupied by two males that was partially parked in the roadway of Kisatachie-Mora Road around 8:50 a.m. on October 2nd. The men allegedly passed out in the vehicle.

When officers approached the vehicle and knocked on the glass, the men reportedly appeared frightened and appeared to be hiding items.

After an investigation, it was learned that the driver, identified as Carmello M. Casciari, 32, of Gorum, was wanted by the 10th Judicial District for failure to appear in court on November 30, 2022 for a wildlife possession violation involving an alligator in closed season .

The passenger, Bailey Anthony Andes, 24, was also wanted by the 10th Judicial District for failure to appear in court on October 27, 2022, aggravated fleeing an officer, domestic violence, domestic violence by child endangerment, driving while suspended and violating a protective order and expired Vehicle badge.

Both suspects were arrested. Suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

Casciari was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on the above charges. Andes was also booked at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on the above charges, including possession of CDS Schedule II methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
