What are the Raiders getting for Davante Adams?

It's inevitable that the Raiders will trade receiver Davante Adams. So what will they get for him?

According to a source familiar with the situation, they want a second-round pick. (Not a package that includes a second-round pick, but a second-round pick.) We've heard unconfirmed rumors (for now) that the Jets have offered a pair of fourth-round picks. (This is also unconfirmed.)

One factor, as previously mentioned, will be the amount of Adams' remaining salary the Raiders will pay. At $983,333 per week, he is owed $13.13 million. The more the Raiders pay, the more they can receive in trade compensation.

Meanwhile the clock is ticking. The sooner Adams lands with his next team, the better. The sooner the Raiders cut his salary, the better. Regardless of whether they pay to facilitate a trade, they will be paying close to $1 million per week for the duration of that trade.

Aside from the Jets, it is unclear whether any other teams are or will be involved. The more teams, the better the deal – theoretically.

Be that as it may, an agreement will be reached sometime before November 5th. It is in the best interests of all parties that it comes to pass.
