Davante Adams wants to leave Las Vegas, and the Raiders wide receiver is reportedly the star move prefers to reunite with one of his former NFL quarterbacks via trade. Now his most popular former teammate, Aaron Rodgers, has raised the possibility of a reunion with the New York Jets. Somehow.

“I don't know how much I can say about that,” Rodgers said Friday when asked about Adams' situation. “There is manipulation. I still have a close friendship with him. We spend time together during the off-season. He’s a great guy, a great player, and the rest is out of my hands.”

Asked what advice he would give the pass catcher when looking for a new team at this stage of his career, Rodgers added: “Yeah, I mean, the grass is green where you water it. There's the scaremongering that comes with it.” Saying that the grass isn't always greener on the other side, but the grass is green where you water it: you put in the time, you put intention and attention on everything you do, and you can make it a special situation to be somewhere.”

His comments come a day after New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr was another of Adams' former teammates also asked about a possible reunion with the star far out there.

“I mean, I think everyone – I think all 32 quarterbacks would love to play with Davante,” Carr said. “We would welcome that. I don’t know if.” [I’ll] I'll get in trouble if I say that. I think everyone just knows that. … I think everyone would love to play with Tae, and I would obviously welcome playing with him again if that ever worked out in our careers. … I would like to? Everyone would love to do it.

Rodgers and Adams spent a total of eight seasons together with the Green Bay Packers from 2014 to 2021. During that span, the wideout earned five Pro Bowl nods as Rodgers' top passing target and Rodgers won three different NFL MVP awards.
