Friday Football Tips: Profit by fouling with the La Liga Bet Builder

Alejandro Quintero Gonzalez is La Liga's best foul referee this season

Our football props section expects fouls when Leganes hosts Valencia in La Liga on Friday night – Andy Schooler explains why.

Leganes vs ValenciaFriday, October 4th, 8:00 p.mLive on LaLigaTV and Premier Player

Fouls will be the focus of Friday's La Liga game. Here's why.

The referee is Alejandro Quintero Gonzalez, a newcomer to the Primera Division but who has already jumped to the top of the foul rankings, averaging 29 in his first four games.

Yes, that's just a small sample, but he was also one of the toughest officials in the Segunda Division last season, averaging 5.61 cards per game, a number he has already increased in 2024/25.

Leganes was also a good player in the promotion-winning season and is fifth in the list of fouls committed this season.

Add to that the fact that this is a key game at the start of the season – both teams are currently 16th and 18th respectively and facing a relegation battle – and this is a contest that is likely to involve some foul tackles.

Stage 1: Javi Hernandez commits more than two fouls

My betting approach is to get Leganes players to commit fouls, with some of the Valencia boys getting fouled in the process.

Let's start with Leganes left-back Javi Hernandez, who has committed more than two fouls in four of his six appearances since joining in the summer.

At Cadiz he was also one of the leading foul players, finishing in the top 30 in the league for fouls committed last season.

He has now made the 2+ Fouls bet in 16 of his last 26 starts over the two seasons, and given the official in charge, I'm happy to be able to add him straight into the Bet Builder.

Stage 2: Luis Rioja is fouled more than once

Rioja has been fouled in six of his seven appearances so far and considering who he is up against, that seems a fair price to pay.

Stage 3: Darko Brasanac commits 2+ fouls

As for the midfield, Darko Brasanac and Pepelu may be in for an exciting battle.

The Spanish press tipped Leganes to recall Brasanac. He started five games this season, committed 15 fouls and finished 2+ in all five games.

Stage 4: Pepelu is fouled more than once

In this game he will try to stop Pepelu, who recently broke his way into the Spanish national team.

The former Levante player has now been fouled in nine of his last 12 games, taking more than one foul to score a quadruple that narrowly pays off 4/1.

Recommended bets

Back Javi Hernandez and Darko Brasanac committing more than two fouls each, and Luis Rioja and Pepelu each fouling more than once at around 4/1
