Tennessee's 'Venmo Mom' Goes Viral for What She Doesn't Do

Time is money, especially if you're a busy mom of four and have a Venmo account.

A Tennessee mother recently went viral on TikTok for controversially admitting that she didn't want to volunteer at her children's school. Instead, she said she was happy to contribute to school activities through Venmo.

Watch the video below and read on to find out exactly what the self-proclaimed “Venmo mom” meant.

“I get really stressed when they start asking for volunteers,” Neal said in her video.

It refers to teachers who ask parent volunteers to help with various things at their children's school

“I'm like, 'Oh no, I know they're judging me for not raising my hand,' but I don't want to do any more shit,” the mother of four said. “I don’t want to come in. I don’t want to settle down.”

She further explained that she would like to contribute in other ways.

“If the room mom needs money so everyone can join in, that’s fine. I’ll give money to Venmo right now,” Neal confessed.

“I'm going to make sure my kids do their homework and get to school on time, of course… but I don't want to be on PTO, PTA, room mom, team mom – I don't want to do any of that.”

Most moms actually agreed with Venmo Mom's comment. “I literally pay for the entire event but don’t force myself to actually go.”

Even a room mom expressed her approval of the Venmo moms.

“As PTO and room moms, we value money-sending moms. A place for everyone!” she wrote.
