Two arrested in drug raid in Bassett

BASSETT, Va. (WDBJ) – Two people were arrested following a drug bust on Thursday, October 3rd.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office, Narcotics Interdiction Unit and SWAT Team executed a narcotics search warrant at 58 Sanville School Road. According to the Henry County Sheriff's Office, officers allegedly seized methamphetamine, an unknown tanning powder, a rifle and a digital scale.

Cody Cheyenne Moore, 31, of Bassett, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of a firearm while possessing a Schedule II drug
  • Distributing a controlled substance on or near school property

Maurice Antonio Underdown, 39, of Bassett, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of a firearm by a nonviolent felon
  • Possession of ammunition by a felon
  • Possession of a firearm while possessing a Schedule II drug
  • Distributing a controlled substance on or near school property

Deputies say all suspected narcotics will be sent to the Roanoke Department of Forensics for analysis.

This incident is still under investigation.
