“CLOSED AWAY:” The Flagler drug house run by “Poison Peddler” has been closed, the sheriff’s office said

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla — A drug house in Flagler County was shut down this week when officers arrested a “poison dealer” accused of running the operation, according to the sheriff's office.

In a news release, officers said they had a narcotics-related search warrant at 4657 Canal Ave. on Thursday. exhibited in Bunnell.

“This search warrant was obtained following an undercover drug purchase,” the press release states. “Detectives had also obtained an arrest warrant for Spencer Sarmento, a convicted felon, for trafficking fentanyl and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.”

During the search, investigators found a rifle and plenty of ammunition, investigators said.

Sarmento was subsequently arrested and held on $123,000 bail. He is charged with possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, drug possession and three counts of possession of ammunition as a convicted felon.

According to court records, Sarmento is also charged with fentanyl trafficking in a separate case from last month.

According to the sheriff's office, Sarmento has been arrested more than 20 times since 2010 on 34 different charges, 19 of which were felonies.

“Another poison dealer found out the hard way that selling drugs in Flagler County was a mistake when our SWAT team conducted a raid on his poison dealer business,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Our team did a great job getting this convicted felon off the streets and removing the illegal drugs he tried to sell from our community.” If you are a poison dealer in Flagler County, we are coming for you next , so you better get out of Flagler!”
