The No. 5 Auburn Tigers (6-0) defeated the No. 1 Central – Phenix City Red Devils (5-1) 38-33 at Central – Phenix City High School on Friday night in a major high school football showdown in Alabama.

Auburn running back Omar Mabson ran for two touchdowns and quarterback Jackson Kilgore connected with Peyton Plott through the air for two touchdowns.

Central – Phenix City is No. 12 in SI's high school rankings in the national top-25 high school football rankings.
