One dead, one arrested in Jackson's latest murder

Jackson Police Department investigators are investigating a shooting that left one man dead. The shooting happened on West McDowell Road around 7 p.m. Friday. According to JPD, officers found 42-year-old Tremaine Curry shot multiple times at that location, where he later died. Emanuel Jaynes, 25, was arrested in the case and is charged with murder. Police have not released the motive for the shooting as the investigation is ongoing. Jackson police say this shooting on W. McDowell Road is the city's 88th homicide of 2024.
