Los Angeles Lakers rookies Bronny James and Dalton Knecht made their preseason debuts on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California.

James, the son of Lakers star LeBron James, particularly impressed on defense, such as when he got a block that ultimately led to his assist on a basket shot by Rui Hachimura.

The 19-year-old recorded two blocks and one assist in six minutes on the field in the first half.

Knecht looked good offensively and hit this mid-range jumper for his first two points. He finished the first half with six points, a steal and a block in six minutes.

It's still very early, of course, but both newcomers showed some good signs that excited fans.

If you still don't see a pro in Bronny's game, I just don't know. Easy preseason highlight, but back to college.

The Lakers' next preseason game is Sunday at 9:30 p.m. ET against the Phoenix Suns, rounding out the two-game stretch at Acrisure Arena.
