Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree have the final staredown

SALT LAKE CITY – Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree have completed their final business before sharing the octagon at the ceremonial UFC 307 weigh-ins on Friday.

After making weight earlier in the day, current champion Pereira (11-2 MMA, 8-1 UFC) and first-time challenger Rountree (13-5 MMA, 9-5 UFC) took one last look at each other in a staredown in front of the fans, the media and the world watching online.

Pereira will be looking to make history with the shortest gap between three successful title defenses after wins in April and July. Rountree, meanwhile, will look to make the most of his opportunity as an unexpected player in the fight for the belt.

UFC 307 takes place on Saturday at the Delta Center. The main card will air on pay-per-view program ESPN+ following the prelims on ESPNews and ESPN+.
