About “Aigiri Nandini”

The hymn “Aigiri Nandini”, also called “Aigiri Nandini Stotram”, goes back to the 8th century philosopher and poet Adi Shankaracharya. This devotional song honors the Goddess Durga and offers a profound and poetic tribute to her strength and divine qualities. Its popularity grew in the Middle Ages thanks to Ramakrishna, a devotee of the goddess Mahakali and a member of the royal court of King Krishna Devaraya. Ramakrishna, better known to many as Tenali Rama, helped bring this hymn wider recognition.
