Garden City HS takes top honors for the second year in a row

GARDEN CITY, NY – Garden City High School has been named to the 2024 Advanced Placement Program School Honor Roll, earning Platinum recognition for the second year in a row.

Garden City High School received the Platinum award for all three criteria used for it
Designation.

  • College Culture: 91 percent of students in the class of 2024 have taken at least one AP exam during their careers.
  • College credit: The percentage of students in the Class of 2024 who earned a C or higher on an AP exam in their career was 86 percent, an increase of 6 percent from 2022 to 2023.
  • College Optimization: The percentage of students in the class of 2024 who took five or more AP exams, including one before 11th grade, increased to 39 percent.

“This award represents the culmination of the world-class instruction and development that our teachers and staff across the district provide to our students, as well as the students’ own talent and dedication,” said Connor Cohn, Garden City assistant principal.
