Honkai Star Rail 5-Star Tingyun Kit Leaked: The Next Best Support Unit?

Honkai Star Rail's 2.5 Trailblazing Continuance mission revealed a big secret surrounding Tingyun, one of the verse's most popular characters. Since then, we've seen constant leaks about a new 5-star version of Tingyun in Honkai Star Rail, with recent leaks also revealing the new Tingyun's release window. However, the most we've learned about her kit is that she'll be a support character from the Nihility path with the Fire damage type. Luckily, new leaks have revealed more information about the new 5-star Tingyun gear and it appears to be the next best support unit in the game.

Tingyun 5-Star New-Form Kit Leaked in Honkai Star Rail

Leaks via Seele Leaks posted on Reddit reveal that Tingyun will not be a dedicated break-only support as previously thought. Instead, similar to Ruan Mei, she will have a general-purpose support kit and will work with most teams. Here are the leaked details about their kit:

• Capability: “Creates an aura that designates an ally as a single target, proportionally increasing the team's stats based on that character, similar to Hunt March 7.” This suggests that Tingyun's skill varies depending on the ally's path or element , where it is deployed, will have multiple impacts on the entire team.
• Ultimate: “Attacks all enemies and applies a debuff that is not guaranteed to hit and can be triggered multiple times.” As a Nihility character, we expected Tingyun's new kit to have abilities to apply debuffs. If I had to guess, the debuff applied will probably increase the break damage taken by the enemy.
• talent: “Includes multiple functions, such as increasing damage, advancing actions, and charging energy.” This sounds extremely broken, but it also fits Tingyun's 4-star ultimate, which increases damage and an ally's energy charges. However, with the addition of action relaying abilities, she can become an extremely powerful and useful support.

While this is still an early kit leak for Tingyun's new form in Honkai Star Rail, we can expect her to be one of the strongest support units in the game upon release. Tingyun's 4-star unit is already considered S-tier support, so I'm sure their 5-star version can't be the worst of the two. Still, we'll have to wait and see how Tingyun's new form compares to Ruan Mei, Robin, and Sparkle, and whether it brings Nihility characters back into the conversation for the best possible support.
