Police have seized drugs with an estimated street value of £5.5 million in Glasgow.

More than 90kg of cocaine, 23kg of heroin, 19kg of MDMA and around 5,800 diazepam and ecstasy tablets were seized from a property on Curzon Street in the Ruchill area on Friday.

Another 20kg of cocaine was found in a vehicle. A weapon, ammunition and cash were also seized during the search.

Two men, aged 45 and 30, and a woman, aged 31, were arrested and charged in connection with the seizure. They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Det Supt Steven Elliott said: “This very significant recovery sends a clear message that we will not tolerate illegal drugs in our communities.”

“We are committed to protecting the public from this harmful crime by stopping the cultivation and sale of illegal substances, preventing their spread on Scotland’s streets and addressing the concerns of local people.

He added that information from the public was “absolutely crucial” and urged anyone with information about drug activity to contact Police Scotland.
