JASPER COUNTY, Ind. – A man and woman were recently taken to the Jasper County Jail after police said remains were found at a property in Wheatfield.

Officials believe Steve Valle and Samantha Sebella previously lived at a home on Old Orchard Lane, where they may have killed two “undocumented” children before burning and/or burying the remains.

Dogs helped alert officers to three different locations on the property where bone fragments were buried. It is currently not clear whether the remains are human.

After police began investigating the case last month, they later said they had received “new information” that helped lead to the arrest of Valle and Sebella.

The two are currently charged with crimes such as murder and neglect of a relative resulting in death. A child in their care was taken into protective custody.
