Who will be captain in Gameweek 7?

The scout panel of Fantasy Premier League experts give their opinion on who should be captain in Gameweek 7 ahead of the deadline at 11:00 BST on Saturday, October 5th.

Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Erling Haaland (£15.3m) at home to Fulham gets the armband for me, especially after he scored a hat-trick in that game last season. However, if he misses out again, without Rodri (£6.3m) and Kevin De Bruyne (£9.5m) in the team, I might think twice about taking him on as captain in the coming weeks.

Pranil Sheth (@Lateriser12)

My captain will be this week Haaland I assume that he will return to scoring ability after last week's blind performance. It's an isolated case where he doesn't score, and Manchester City, in most cases, shows a strong reaction after losing points.

Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)

When Haaland is at home against someone other than Arsenal or Liverpool, two or three returns are quite likely. Easy decision this week.

Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)

With Haaland playing at home against Fulham, the captaincy decision is usually an easy one. However, Man City were playing away in the European Cup on Tuesday night while Arsenal were playing at home. Add to that the fact that Arsenal had their best game of Gameweek 7 at home to Southampton and I'm tempted to support both Kai Havertz (£8.2m) or Bukayo Saka (£10.1m). Their numbers against Leicester City were truly impressive and I expect they will have similar joy against Southampton too.

Holly Shand (@HollyShand)

The captaincy may be more difficult this week than in previous gameweeks, with Haaland, Saka and Cole Palmer (£10.7m) all viable options. Ultimately, the midweek minutes (or lack thereof) could be influential, but Haaland scored four goals and one assist in two appearances against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium, so he has the edge for me at the moment.

Nick Harris (@WGTA_Nick)

I gave Palmer the armband last week and am tempted to keep it on him, but Haaland Against Fulham at home seems too good a game to be without a captain.

Mark McGettigan (@FPLGeneral)

It will be a very close duel between Haaland and Palmer for me this week. Saka also has a great game. I like Haaland's game more than Palmer's, but I'm very tempted to double my wildcard selection and give the Chelsea man the armband this weekend, knowing he won't be as highly rated as Haaland .

Az Phillips (@FPLBlackBox_Az)

Easy choice for me Haaland. He scored a hat-trick against Fulham at the start of the season last year and has collected 39 points in his three home games so far this season.

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Ollie Watkins (£9.1m) and Saka could be good choices again this week, especially the latter at home to Southampton. However, Haaland is phenomenal at home and that's why I'm going to give him the armband this time.
