Tropical Storm Milton is in the Gulf of Mexico and a hurricane is imminent

Tropical Storm Milton formed in the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday. This storm follows Helene for a little over a week. A ridge of high pressure is building over the eastern United States this week, which will direct Milton toward Florida over the next week based on current forecasts. Milton is expected to strengthen into a hurricane as it slowly moves eastward from the southwestern Gulf.
