Two children and a woman were attacked by four “dangerously out of control” dogs in Orpington

Two children and a woman were attacked by four “dangerously out of control” dogs in southeast London.

The children, aged four and six, and a 30-year-old woman were taken to hospital after police found them injured. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

The attack happened just before 9am on Saturday in Mickleham Road, St Paul's Cray, Orpington, the Metropolitan Police said.

Police said a woman was arrested on suspicion of causing dogs to dangerously out of control.

Superintendent Mitch Carr said: “I know this incident has caused great public concern, particularly given the young age of the children injured.”

“While the investigation is ongoing, the dogs have also been taken to police kennels.

“Additional officers will be on site over the next few days to reassure the community.”

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 8.49am this morning.” [5 October] to reports of an incident in Mickleham Lane, Orpington.

“We sent a number of emergency personnel to the scene, including emergency responders, a paramedic and an incident commander. We also dispatched the London air ambulance.”

“We treated one adult and two children at the scene and transported them all by road to a major trauma center.”
