The 2024 MLB postseason continues with the start of the best-of-five Division Series on Saturday. Three of the wild-card round series ended in 2-0 victories, with the Tigers, Royals and Padres having two days off to set their lineups and rotations for the next round, while the Mets needed three games to knock off the Brewers.

The first games on Saturday will be played in Cleveland and New York (AL) and Philadelphia and Los Angeles (NL). Both National League Division Series play Game 2 on Sunday and both American League Division Series continue with Game 2 on Monday.

Which teams will take an early lead heading to the Championship Series? Follow live updates, highlights and more below.

The Cleveland Guardians won Game 1 comfortably with a 7-0 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

Cleveland started the game strong, with a five-run first inning highlighted by Lane Thomas' three-run home run. Thomas sent Reese Olson's first relief throw over the left field wall.

Olson calmed things down over the next innings, but the Guardians were able to sub out Sean Guenther in the bottom of the sixth when David Fry hit a two-run double to extend their lead to 7-0.

Guardians starter Tanner Bibee went 4 2/3 innings and allowed zero runs on four hits while striking out six batters.

Game 2 is Monday at 4:08 p.m. ET at Progressive Field. The likely starting players will be Tarik Skubal for the Tigers and Matthew Boyd for the Guardians.

Here's a look at the four Game 1s scheduled for Saturday and how to watch them:

Live46 updates

  • Things just got interesting in Philadelphia. Phillies reliever Jeff Hoffman allowed a leadoff hit to Francisco Alvarez and then walked Francisco Lindor to put a runner in scoring position with no outs. He gets a visit from the trainers before he competes against Mark Vientos.

  • The Phillies go down in order at the end of the seventh quarter against Reed Garrett. It looks like they gave their bullpen little room for error in the final two innings.

  • Freddie Freeman is in the Dodgers lineup, batting third as usual.

  • Wheeler also now has a 2.17 ERA in 12 career postseason starts.

  • Wheeler had 30 swing strikes, the third most in one start since 2008. He threw nearly 2 miles per hour faster than his regular season average.

  • Wheeler caps off an excellent day: 7 scoreless innings, 5.5 miles

Wheeler justifies Thomson's decision to keep him in. He forces a pop out from Marte and then a ground out from Tyrone Taylor. He's probably done and his final line: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 9 K and 111 pitches. The Mets failed to get a runner to third base in his start.

  • Zack Wheeler makes 100 pitches while giving Jesse Winker a one-out walk, and suddenly it's questionable whether he can make the seventh pitch. Rob Thomson stays true to him against Starling Marte

  • Meanwhile, in the other NLDS, the Padres have released their usual lineup, but nothing from the Dodgers yet. Freddie Freeman, who sprained his ankle late in the regular season, is a big question mark.

  • The Phillies' 1-0 record remains six times

The Mets send the Phillies three up and three down to end the sixth. It's a slow game but a strong defensive performance from both teams.

  • Zack Wheeler gets two more strikeouts to quickly end the top of the sixth. With the Phillies at bat, Mets pitcher David Peterson is replaced by Reed Garrett, who quickly shuts out Nick Castellanos.

  • Still 1-0 after five

David Peterson gets a big strikeout against Bryce Harper – Peterson's first of the game – to close out the fifth inning. It's still 1-0 Phillies in this defense-dominated game.

  • Early in the fifth, Mets outfielder Starling Marte is hit in the forearm by Wheeler's pitch and goes to first. Marte runs towards the dugout for a moment, visibly in pain, but then comes back into the game to run.

But the Mets leave another runner stranded as Wheeler gets two massive strikeouts in a row. Wheeler now has seven strikeouts in the first five innings.

  • Philadelphia defends its 1-0 lead at the start of the fourth quarter

The Mets end the fourth inning with some key plays to strand the Phillies players on base and keep the score at 1-0.

  • The Mets got two bases early, setting up a potential scoring opportunity. But Wheeler struck out Pete Alonso, and the Phillies followed up with a double play to lead off the top of the fourth. Philadelphia defends its 1-0 lead with strong defense; Can the Phillies add more runs as the game goes on to increase the gap?

  • In the bottom of the third inning, the Phillies still led 1-0

David Peterson is now pitching for the Mets, replacing Kodai Senga after two innings. He soon gives up a single to Kyle Schwarber, who makes it 2-2 so far.

The Mets have a chance for a double play to end the inning, but Trea Turner's speed ruins that plan. Turner is then intercepted at base by Peterson and barely makes it back to first base. A challenge by the Mets is unsuccessful and Turner is considered safe.

In the end it doesn't matter as the Mets reach the finale on a flyout by Nick Castellanos and only lose the inning 0-1.

  • Efficient pitching ensures it will be a close game, with Wheeler retiring seven batters and Senga eight in two innings.

By the second time, Wheeler had thrown 20 strikes and three strikeouts. Only one Met reached the bases, with Jesse Winker coming first with a walk, but Wheeler closed out the inning soon after.

Aside from Schwarber's home run, Senga also pitched well, throwing 18 strikeouts and three strikeouts. Due to his injuries, Senga is only available in limited places today; After 31 pitches in those first two innings, Senga could return for another inning before being substituted.

  • Philadelphia led 1-0 after the first inning

The Phillies lead the Mets 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning after Kyle Schwarber hit a massive home run, much to the delight of the raucous Philadelphia crowd.

It's tough for Mets pitcher Kodai Senga, who missed most of the season due to injury, and who gets an absolute blast from Schwarber in his return.

  • Kyle Schwarber opens the scoring for Philadelphia with a bomb

  • Three plus points, three minus points from Wheeler in the opener for the Phillies

Wheeler makes quick work of the first inning with Francisco Lindor at bat and Mark Vientos and Brandon Nimmo hitting.
