The Hell in a Cell match is one of the most iconic WWE ties in its storied history and will be the final bout that ends the hellish feud between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk at Bad Blood.

In recent months, McIntyre and Punk have faced each other twice. McIntyre defeated Punk with Seth Rollins as special guest referee at SummerSlam. Punk then defeated McIntyre in a strap match. Saturday's game at the Premium Live Event will be a worthy conclusion.

The rivalry between the two enemies lasts 10 months.

At the end of Survivor Series last November, Punk made his shocking return to the company. McIntyre was visibly upset and had to be restrained by Wade Barrett. Rollins was also concerned about Punk's return.

McIntyre got his first shot at Punk during the Royal Rumble. As McIntyre performed one of his finishing maneuvers on him, Punk tore his triceps. Punk wasn't in the ring, but he made life difficult for McIntyre for the next seven months. Punk helped Damian Priest defeat McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship and swore to the Scottish wrestler that he would never win a title as long as he was there. From then on the feud flared up.

McIntyre said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital that colleagues sense the tension between the two, but they understand what their rivalry means broadly.

“You can feel the tension,” he said. “Everyone feels the tension when he and I are close to each other. We have to be professionals and do our job. We understand that we've been doing this for a long time, that real personal problems, real hatred, cost money. So do we.” You know, when the bell rings, we can really lean on each other, and when we're on the mic, we can see that we both have thick skin – unlike a lot of our superstars. They want to cry when I tweet about them. I appreciate that about them.

WWE LEGEND BATISTA’S HALL OF FAME INTRODUCTION “LONG OVERDUE,” SAYS DREW MCINTYRE

“But you can feel the tension when we’re around. And I remember recently a picture was posted online and it was the big talk on the internet because Punk and I were close to each other during the day and that was it. “Oh my God, they really don't like each other.” I thought: Yeah, you fucking idiots, you don't go to your office job and have to stand next to the guy you don't like every now and then just because someone took a photo of that moment, because we're dealing with a situation , which you have to deal with in your job, even if you can't stand the p—k.

Punk and McIntyre gave each other heavy promotions in the days and weeks leading up to their crucial match.

Punk has made it clear that he is willing to put his life on the line in the Hell in a Cell match.

“I will make you bleed, and I promise you must kill me because I am ready to die. I'm prepared for this heart to stop beating. “I'm prepared for this to be over.” “I've had a great career and if this is the end, then so be it,” he said on Monday Night Raw on September 16.

“I’m prepared for this to be the end of CM Punk, and if you’re prepared for this to be the end of Drew McIntyre, then I’ll see you in hell.”

But how far is McIntyre willing to go?

“I'm ready to go all the way. I mean, it's WWE. It’s not a movie,” he said. “We're not going to say we're going to kill each other, but he said the words, 'I'm ready to die,' and I'm ready to obey that.”

“I'm not saying it's going to happen, but he actually said, 'I'm ready to die.' My answer to the question: “How far am I willing to go?” Willing to comply. Probably not. But I'm going to beat him worse than he's ever been beaten in his life, and he'll probably wish he were dead.

The only thing they both promised is that there will be blood – lots of it.

“The only way to describe this match is that there will be violence, and in my case justified violence, because Punk deserves that kick.”

Bad Blood takes place Saturday night at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. It begins at 6 p.m. ET and can be seen on Peacock.
