“Tata” and “Pollo” try to kill the “Snitch” in Little Havana in Miami

MIAMI – A man and a woman are accused of recently trying to kill a man who collapsed bleeding on the street in Miami's Little Havana.

According to a police report signed by Detective Ti'Andre Bellinger, the woman was Jennifer “Tata” Montenegro and the man was Daniel “Pollo” Jimenez. Both have used cocaine in the past and both were suspected of attempted murder.

As of Saturday, Montenegro, 35, was at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and Jimenez, 52, was at the Metrowest Detention Center. According to the report, the attempted murder occurred on September 27 near Flagler Street and Southwest 17 Avenue.

Here's how Bellinger described the exchange the victim reported with the duo:

“Oh! “You're going to rob me again,” the victim said while sitting on his white electric bike.

Montenegro allegedly accused the victim of “being a snitch”!

Jimenez reportedly said, “The bike will be mine!”

According to Bellinger's report, Jimenez pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim “from behind,” and Montenegro “flinched” from the victim “with his hand open” — before the duo stole his electric bike. The victim “tried to walk home until he collapsed.”

Miami Fire Rescue personnel transported the victim to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Police officers arrested Jimenez and Montenegro on September 29 for other robberies. Investigators interviewed Jimenez.

“The defendant knew the victim by name and lied several times in the interview about the whereabouts of co-defendant Montenegro, but ultimately stated that they had left the house together to get something to eat around the time before the incident,” Bellinger wrote . “The defendant claimed he went home while co-defendant Montenegro stayed outside.”

There are three cases and two arrest warrant cases pending in Montenegro. The other two pending cases involved armed robbery as well as possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The warrant cases involved possession of cocaine and controlled substances.

Jimenez has three pending cases and an arrest warrant related to an immigration hold. Two of the pending cases involved cocaine possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and armed robbery. As a result of the stabbing, both were charged with attempted murder and armed robbery with a deadly weapon.

Investigators asked anyone with information about this or other cases to contact Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
