Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in accident

WAUKON, Iowa (KTTC) – A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash in Allamakee County on Saturday.

According to the Allamakee County Sheriff's Office, the Allamakee County Sheriff's Dispatch Center received a 911 call shortly before noon Saturday reporting that there was a motorcycle collision at the intersection of IA-9 and 9th Street SW near Waukon and car came.

The sheriff's office said an eastbound motorcycle turning north from IA-9 onto 9th Street SW collided with a passenger vehicle traveling westbound on IA-9.

The motorcycle's driver and a passenger were transported by ambulance to Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision.

The passenger of the motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported by ambulance to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

The Allamakee County Sheriff's Office, Waukon Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Veterans Memorial Hospital Ambulance Service, Waukon Fire Department, Gunderson Air Ambulance, University of Iowa Air Ambulance and the Iowa Department of Transportation all assisted at the scene.

The collision remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
