COLUMBUS, Ohio – A man was arrested early Saturday after he allegedly tried to hit three people with his vehicle following an argument in East Columbus.

The argument reportedly began outside a home in the 1800 block of Noe Bixby Road in the Pine Hills neighborhood near Big Walnut Park. Columbus police say the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Alexander Oglesby, drove his vehicle off the road and attempted to run over three people.

According to police, tire tracks show that Oglesby drove toward the victims, who were lying on the grass in front of their home about 40 yards away.

One of the victims allegedly shot and struck Oglesby in self-defense.

Oglesby was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for the injury.

He was charged with three counts of assault and taken to the Franklin County Jail.
