Driver Tip Leads to OVI Arrest: Lakewood Police Blotter

LAKEWOOD, Ohio –

POV: Detroit Avenue

A caller at 5:31 p.m. on Sept. 22 said he followed a dark green or blue truck for about a half-mile and it swerved all over the road, a police incident report said. An officer found the vehicle parked on Detroit Avenue near Graber Drive. An adult male was arrested for OVI and possession of an open container in a motor vehicle.

Disorderly Conduct: Detroit Avenue

A caller reported at 2:09 p.m. on Sept. 22 that a man had passed out near the intersection of Detroit and Arthur avenues. According to the caller, the man appeared to have urinated on himself. Officers and firefighters arrived. The fire department determined he didn't need a paramedic. According to a police report, officers arrested the man for disorderly conduct and a warrant.

Disorderly Conduct: Lakewood Avenue

A caller reported at 5:34 p.m. on Sept. 23 that he saw a woman lying in the grass along Lakewood Avenue near Detroit Avenue and said she appeared to be in distress. An officer arrested the woman for disorderly conduct and possession of an open container.

Theft: South Lane Drive

An apartment resident reported a missing package at 12:31 p.m. on September 24th.

POV: Lake Avenue

A patrol officer arrested a motorist on Lake Avenue near Hird Avenue at 12:50 a.m. Sept. 25 for driving while intoxicated.

Theft: Parkway Drive

A resident reported on September 25 at 1:21 p.m. that a package containing a Google Pixel phone was stolen from her porch.

Theft: Detroit Avenue

A caller reported at 2:55 p.m. on Sept. 25 that a male shoplifter exited the Walgreens store at Detroit Avenue and W. 117th Street and headed north on W. 117th Street. According to a police report, an officer arrested a male suspect who was accused of theft.

Receipt of Stolen Items: W. 117th Street

An automatic license plate reader alerted police at 2:14 p.m. on September 26 that a stolen vehicle had entered the city. Officers found the vehicle in a parking lot near W. 117th Street and Detroit Avenue. According to a police report, officers arrested a man and a woman for receiving stolen property and drug paraphernalia.
