Juvenile murder suspect arrested after high-speed chase in Texarkana [VIDEO]

A 17-year-old boy from Texarkana was arrested on October 2, 2024 following a high-speed chase involving the Arkansas State Police (ASP) and the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD). The incident began around 5:30 p.m. when officers spotted a stolen vehicle traveling north on Jefferson Avenue.

The suspect accelerated to about 95 mph after turning onto Interstate 30. Near the I-30/I-49 interchange, he attempted to maneuver around another vehicle but lost control, causing his car to roll over in the median.

After being treated and released by Christus St. Michael Healthcare, the suspect was taken into custody and transported to a juvenile detention center in Pine Bluff. He is awaiting trial on first-degree murder charges in connection with the September 29, 2023 death of Kendrick Roquemore.

In addition to the murder charge, the teenager now faces charges of theft of property and escape. His previous bond of $250,000 was revoked by Miller County District Judge Carlton Jones, who set a new bond of $250,000 for the latest charges.
