The suspects are accused of attacking a 70-year-old man and beating him with a stick

HOUSTONHouston police are trying to identify two male suspects involved in an aggravated robbery of an elderly man.

The robbers appear to be teenagers. If they are bold enough to physically attack a frail old man, one has to wonder what else they are capable of.

On September 22, Shelby Thomas decided to find out what was wrong with his cell phone.

“My pictures came out in black and white,” he said. “So I went to T-Mobile to see why my pictures were being delivered in black and white.”

FOX 26 Houston is now available on the FOX LOCAL app, available on Apple TV, Amazon FireTV, Roku, Google Android TV and Vizio!

First, Shelby goes to a Bunny Stop in the 8700 block of Tidwell to buy a soda.

He walks about 30 meters around the corner to the T-Mobile store.

“I got a little tired. I sat down and drank my lemonade,” Shelby said.

A young man wearing a mask came towards him.

“He said, 'Old man, you owe me $25, check your pockets,” Shelby said. “I said, 'Boy, I've never seen you in my life. How do I owe you $25?'”

Then another young man appears.

“They beat me, knocked me down. They took my stick and beat me with it. They hit me in the eye with the stick,” Shelby said. “At first I held onto my bag and he couldn’t get in. But when he hit me in the eye, I had to let go. The security guard just sat there and watched everything.”

Shelby has this message for the two young thugs.

“How would you feel if someone treated your grandfather like that?” he said. “I don’t think they would like it if their grandfather acted like me.”

If you know the identity of the robber, call Houston Crime Stoppers.
