Strictly speaking, the spoiler is dividing fans as the name of the celebrity who won has been leaked online

Strictly Come Dancing fans were shocked when a 'spoiler' revealed which celebrity and professional dancer was sent home after Movie Week. Unlike many reality TV shows, Strictly runs the risk of its secrets being exposed as the results show is recorded on Saturday evening in front of the same studio audience that watches the live show, but is not broadcast until Sunday evening.

Most viewers wait until the second Strictly show airs on BBC One to find out the results, but since 2012 an account has published which results two stars landed in the dance-off and who was ultimately sent home by the judges – probably to the frustration of the producers of the TV broadcast.

In fact, fans were divided over the identity of the axed celeb mentioned in the spoiler account (which we won't repeat), with some calling it “the right decision” while others were angry that one of their favorites would no longer be appearing in the BBC series. One wrote: “After this spoiler I'm even more annoyed.”

It's been an eventful week on Strictly – not least because Nick Knowles wasn't there as he had a week off after another injury. There were missteps from several stars in the cast, including Pete Wicks and Jowita, who were involved in what judge Craig Revel-Horwood described as a “tripping hazard”.

However, others were widely praised for their performances, not least Love Island stars Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Škorjanec, who performed a Barbie-inspired dance to “What Was I Made For” which was branded “absolutely incredible”.

The results of Strictly's Movie Week were as follows:

  • Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec – 34

  • Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola – 33

  • Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu – 33

  • Dr. Punam Krishan and Gorka Marquez – 33

  • JB Gill and Amy Dowden – 32

  • Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell – 30

  • Sam Quek and Nakita Kuzmin – 30

  • Wynne Evans and Katya Jones – 30

  • Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas – 30

  • Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe – 28

  • Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal – 26

  • Paul Merson and Karen Hauer – 19

  • Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones – 15
