15-year-old boy killed in JTB accident, three other teenagers seriously injured

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 15-year-old boy was killed and three other teenagers were seriously injured in a crash on J. Turner Butler Boulevard Friday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to police, around 10 p.m., a Lexus GS, a Dodge Charger and a Genesis GV70 were traveling west on JTB at Southside Boulevard when the Lexus hit the Charger.

The Charger then crashed into the Genesis, troopers said.

According to FHP, the Lexus rolled over several times and one of the passengers was thrown from the car.

The passenger, a 15-year-old boy from Jacksonville, was killed in the accident.

The driver of the Lexus, a 16-year-old boy from Jacksonville, was seriously injured. Two other passengers, a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, were also seriously injured in the accident.

The driver of the Dodge Charger, a 27-year-old man from Middleburg, suffered minor injuries, according to the report.

The driver of the Genesis, a 51-year-old woman from Jacksonville, also suffered minor injuries.

The accident shut down all westbound lanes of the JTB near Belfort Road for hours. All lanes have reopened.

FHP is investigating.
