YouTube Shorts allows uploading videos up to 3 minutes from THIS date; Here's how to upload | Technology News

YouTube Shorts Update 2024: YouTube has introduced several features for its Shorts feature. YouTube Shorts offers creators a unique platform to share captivating short videos, now up to three minutes long.

The new feature will be available starting October 15, 2024 and marks a shift in the way users create and consume content on YouTube Shorts. The platform has primarily focused on videos up to 60 seconds long, competing with TikTok and Instagram Reels.

It is important to note that the new feature only affects square or vertical aspect ratio videos and any videos uploaded before the implementation date will not be affected.

However, the new update is in response to developer feedback as it was one of the most requested features and offers more storytelling opportunities.

The new feature encourages creativity by allowing users to create quick, engaging content that immediately grabs attention. Perfect for storytelling, tutorials, or entertainment, YouTube Shorts helps creators connect with audiences in today's fast-paced digital world.

Additionally, YouTube introduced a feature that allows users to use templates to make it easier to remix and recreate trending videos. By tapping the Remix button on a Short and selecting “Use this template,” creators can easily tap into trends and personalize popular content.

This feature also allows users to extract content from various YouTube videos, expanding creative possibilities and improving interactivity on the platform.
