Amanda Abbington has been accused of “misrepresenting” the findings of the review into bullying allegations against Giovanni Pernice.

The 50-year-old actress quit the BBC show in its sixth week in October last year and later accused her Strictly partner Mr Pernice for inappropriate behavior.

The former Strictly professional was cleared of most of the allegations made against him by the star.

Last night Ms Abbington expressed relief that a cancer scare led to her quitting Strictly – and training with Mr Pernice.

A spokesperson for The professional dancer has since told MailOnline: “The BBC completed its review almost a week ago.”

“It is deeply worrying that Ms Abbington appears intent on continually misrepresenting the review’s findings in television and newspaper interviews.

“Giovanni is focused on his work at Ballando con le Stella and supporting his partner Bianca and hopes that Ms Abbington can soon accept the results of the review and look to the future.”

The actress cited personal reasons when he left the show. She revealed last night that she had discovered two lumps in her breast on the morning she left.

In a written statement on Monday, a spokesman for Mr Pernice said: “We are pleased that this six-month review found no evidence of threatening or abusive behavior by Giovanni.”

“Giovanni is relieved that the vast majority of allegations made to the BBC have not been confirmed and looks forward to continuing his work on Dancing With The Stars in Italy this season.”
